Japanese videos.
English alongside.
Jimaku brings English subtitles to Japanese YouTube videos, with the original Japanese close at hand.
Keep watching in the player you know. Turn subtitles on when you need them, hide them when you don’t.

Watch, check, choose.
Public installation is not available yet. The extension is under development and store distribution is on hold. There is no released store listing to install from this page.
Open a Japanese video
With an approved test build installed, open YouTube as usual. Jimaku needs no viewer account or access to a maintainer’s devices.
Check the player control
Jimaku checks the current subtitle document before offering its toggle. Switching it on is your choice; playback stays yours.
Request what’s missing
Use Request in the player to record interest. Your requests keeps status in the extension. A request does not start processing automatically.
What viewers are waiting for
Outstanding requests
Browse requests with verified public metadata. Work still being prepared is separate from subtitles you can watch.
Ready in the last 30 days
Recently available
A bounded window of videos whose English subtitles became available recently. Each entry opens the video on YouTube, where the extension checks the current subtitles before offering them.
Your interest, your choice
Requests need no account. A network contributes at most once per video each UTC day, and valid repeat submissions still count toward the hourly limit.
You can follow a channel for its future uploads with Follow, beside its Subscribe button. Support renews while you use Jimaku and expires 30 days after its last renewal.
Requests and follows are made in the extension, which keeps them in your browser. This website takes neither, and keeps nothing about you.
